The Electrode Induction Melting Inert Gas Atomization (EIGA) method is growing in popularity as a method for the reactive metal atomization process.   This process rotates a pre-alloyed bar into an induction coil for melting, this results in the metal dripping from the bottom of the bar. As the drops fall into the atomization chamber they are hit with a high-pressure gas and transformed into spherical powders.  One of the issues with this method is sourcing of the pre-alloyed electrodes. Metalwerks’ Induction Skull Melting (ISM) furnace is uniquely suited to assist with this process. Our ISM casts a nominal weight of 150 pounds of any reactive metals chemistry into bars that can be used specifically as EIGA electrodes.   We have cast bars as small as 2” diameter and 30” length and as large as 4” diameter and 40” length, but we have the capability to cast any size bar required for your atomizer. Whether it is a developmental alloy of a specific chemistry or quick turnaround for a specific job, our team of melting engineers can help you get the EIGA electrode you need.

Metalwerks understands that the metals industry is complex.  If you have a question about our capabilities, request for quotation, or other inquiry, we are always available by phone at 724-378-9020.  Or send over your request using the request quote or contact links above.
