Metalwerks
PMD, Inc. was founded in 1998.
In June 2000, the company moved from a startup site to a new 12,000 square
foot melt shop facility in Aliquippa, PA.
In January 2005, the company added a new 35,000 square foot
forge shop facility adjacent to the melt shop.
In April 2005, Metalwerks PMD, Inc. became ISO 9001-2000 approved.
The
core business is based on vacuum melting. Metalwerks PMD, Inc. supplies
small quantities of vacuum melted alloys with standard, modified and/or
developmental compositions that normally require a high degree of chemistry
control and product cleanliness.
The melt facility is designed to produce individual ingots from 50 lbs
up to 2,000 lbs with typical melt sizes in the 200 lbs to 1,000 lbs range.
The rotary forging machine will process input materials up to 6 1/4"
diameter and output as small as 1 1/8" diameter.
In
addition, Metalwerks PMD, Inc. has developed a large number of converters
to forge, cog,roll, or otherwise process our ingots into mill product
forms such as billet, bar, rod, coil, plate, sheet, sheet bar. All outside
conversion is monitored by a Metalwerks PMD, Inc. observer.
